In 1997, armed only with his own surname, a chap called Steve Skinner dreamed of setting up a community brewery in Cornwall. On the banks of the Truro River, he and his family brewed a ground-breaking golden ale and named it after the tin-mining faeries of local myth.
With Cornish Knocker, Steve set out his stall for concocting trailblazing ales, following it with another legendary brew, a brazen Cornish bitter called Betty Stogs, which CAMRA named Britain’s best bitter. Our pale ales Porthleven and Lushingtons are also SIBA South West Award winners for 2016.
Countless barrels and hundreds of awards later, our brewery has grown but remains a family business rooted in the area we live and work, whether that’s in sourcing Cornish-grown barley, doing our bit for our corner of the planet or enjoying a bit of surfing and shanty-singing.

Trevethan distillery was founded in 2015 and initially set out to produce premium quality Cornish craft gin. Each batch is hand distilled at our craft facility in Cornwall.
The small quantities that we produce help to create our unique flavour and give every batch its own signature character. Complex, with subtle hints of citrus and floral notes, our gin is made using botanicals sourced from our very own Cornish hedgerows for a true taste of Cornwall.
Nowadays the distillery not only produces a wide selection of gin but they have diversified into producing other spirits. They have recently launched a Caribbean style rum using the Lost Gardens of Heligan’s Cornish grown pineapples and Cornish black bee honey. They also produce a delicious aperitif called Koneva.
We create mixers using a blend of distilled botanicals, natural plant extracts and Cornish Spring Water.
We started Navas to provide a different drink. Mixers focused on balancing ingredients, not overpowering with fad flavours. We also want to match our love of craft drinks with the best modern business practices to be more sustainable, mixing with the best and shouting about the quality of ingredients and drinks found in Cornwall.
Working with distillers, we carefully experiment with our recipes to develop mixers that are as considered as the spirit. Through blending different citrus, herbs, bitters and spices, our drinks enhance the range of botanicals and taste of your spirit and aperitifs. The objective in creating all our drinks is to develop a clean taste profile, uplifting and crisp, that are enjoyable on their own and bring out the best flavours of a quality spirit.
